College and Career
Bronx Arena High School offers College & Career services to all students through programs and activities both in the classroom and out, in individual and group formats. With the Learning to Work Internship Program, students can participate in internships within the community. They receive a real life experience designed to build their skills, all while being paid for their work. Through the college access program, students are supported through the process of researching schools, completing applications and filing for financial aid. Bronx Arena increases student’s exposure to college by offering trips to college campuses and college fairs in the New York City area. Each year, we host our very own Soundview College and Career Fair which gives students the opportunity to speak with college representatives and working professionals. Students will also have access to college & career readiness through regular workshops that take place during group sessions. Workshops topics may include creating a resume, practicing interviews, and exploring college majors. These workshops are designed to help each student develop an individualized post-secondary plan. Workshops will also focus on building a student portfolio, which is a Bronx Arena graduation requirement.
All students and their families are welcome to access these supports at any time. See Emily and Lauren in Room 230B or ask your Advocate Counselor and teachers for more information.
